My sea and landscapes can probably be best described as loosely representational, moving at times to abstraction. I enjoy walking; my partner and I frequently walk the hills or coastal paths of Hampshire, Dorset or The Cotswolds. I always have my camera to hand to capture the vast dramatic skies, turbulent seas or beautiful wooded areas and fields of our wonderful English landscape. I use the experience of these walks as well as the photographs as inspiration for my paintings which can sometimes be recognisable, at others tending more towards the essence of the walk and surrounding landscape (see ‘Walking home from The Plough’). If you have a particular view or area that you would like to be captured on canvas or board and you find my style exciting, please do contact me to discuss.
